It came out exactly as we wanted it to, I think. We wanted to play the kind of music that resonates with us the most, and that’s this larger-than-life rock with pop hooks. Our dream is to make a record so big that it’ll be impossible to ignore us—in part because of our band name. (Laughs)

It’s important to have fun and not take yourself too seriously, I like to act instinctually when it comes to creating so if something sticks, it will. Don’t think, do. The Sauerkraut thing (The name of their first single) came about as I was eating a lot of it when writing the track, slightly disgusting but a sauerkraut sandwich for some meals.

When we first started doing this music, we had no lyrics, the music was short, no song titles and we made a lot of this stuff on the spot. It was all garbage. We were playing a big musical rock n' roll laugh with really loud guitars and playing all horrible and shit to make it sound bad.
